NOTE:- Works only on Samsung Note 9, S10, S10E, S10 Plus.
May be working on S9, S9+, S8, S8+ (In few Countries)
With the release of latest android pie numerous new features has been added like new gesture navigation, device care setting and new UI to list a few, but with all these new features comes down side. Google has blocked, or I would say, made the the call recording feature hard to use. With many devices getting android updates, they are loosing the major feature of android missing in IOS devices, call recording, provided with many third party app like ACR unusable. You can install any call recording app from the Google App store but the app will not record the calls like it should, either you will not hear the other person voice or it will very low in volume.
Previously when the Android Marshmallow was released, Google blocked the call recording feature on entirely every android device, but the third party apps were updated and the feature was backed, but this time its otherwise. Google has completed blocked the feature unless you root your device.
Samsung on the other has released its new One UI with android pie 9 to its majority device. Samsung Note 9 and Samsung S9/s9+ are already getting these updates in many counties.
You must be figuring WHY SAMSUNG ONE UI is in post ??
Well Samsung has added with most anticipated feature – Call Recording embedded directly into it’s One UI. Yes, you don’t need any third party app. If you have Samsung phone with One UI installed, you can use this feature from the very first day and If you handset is due for an update, you need to wait for the update to happen which is very soon. Check if your Samsung phone is eligible for an android 9 update here.
Here how you can activate Call Recording Feature built in the new Samsung One UI.
Head over to Call App >>>
Tap Three Dots on Top Right >>>>
Select Call Setting >>>> Tap On Record Calls
Tap on Auto record Calls and thats it!!
Yes, its easy and great to have Samsung put this feature in its One UI when Google has just decided to block this feature permanently.
Well share this post if you think it helped you to get the working Call Recording if you have updated to Android Pie and lost this feature and none of the apps on Google Play Store is working correctly.
This is my first tech post, so forgive me if I missed anything.

Thanks for the info. I updated to Android pie on my note 9 and I was unable get any of the call recording app to work. And thought I would have to downgrade to oreo but this is simply great!!!
Did it work finally ?
Great, I really like it! Youre awesome
Hi, I got the pie last week. I have not this feature by the phone settings. The Version No. is.: 10.0.02.23. Will I get an update, which will have the funktion?
What is the android version like N960XXXXXX and CSC on your phone?
Hello, i updated my samsung movile to android 9 pie and one UI but i went to the calls settings and there is no call record option in the call settings at all.
Thanks, This saved my day.
I have just updated to pie and Samsung one ui but i don’t have that feature…
Very helpful information thank u.
Call recording is not available with the Samsung update in New Zealand. Certain countries have blocked this feature for whatever reason they stayed security but thats B S.
Where do I find the recorded calls?
Mine Note 9 Samsung One UI, but there is not call recording function.
I have similar menu but no recording feature. 🙁 Samsung galaxy s8. What to do?
Sorry, I don’t have Record Calls between Caller ID and Call alerts. Is there anything that I can do? Thanks
Hi and thanks for this info !! My questuion is in with verion of “One UI” is it where this “Record calls” is available ?? In my phone there is no tab named “Record calls” and as follow there in mot any tab called “Auto record call, All numbers” My phone is a Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F)and the “One UI” version is 1.0 ! It would be nice to know if the possibilty to record call is available for my phone !
I have Note 8 with Android Pie and “record calls” option is missing 🙁
I take it that the One UI is not available on Samsung Galaxy s8 Plus?
I just downloaded the PIE update and none of my recording apps work.
I did as you suggested here, but recording still doesn’t seem to be an option on the native app.
Any idea on how to get this version of One UI on my Galaxy S8 Plus?
BTW— I am a freelance reporter and often record interviews on my phone.
Call recording is a MUST for me for my line of work.
Doesn’t show call recording on Galaxy S10
I think it will NOT work on devices with pie 9 installed.
Even if the feature is shown. I guess it will be unavailable.
I still can’t proof has I don’t want to upgrade to Pie 9.
If someone went through Pie 9 and managed to get records on Samsung phones, please let us know !!
I believe the Samsung option is available only in select countries. That would make this article inaccurate and users who then decide to update would be unpleasantly surprised. Please research this and update article as needed.
There is simply no such an option like “Record Calls” on my Samsung s9+. Looks like Android lost it’s shiny feature and so far no way out….
Please upgrade your s9+ software to OneUI (If available). Samsung is yet to roll out OneUI updates to most of the countries.
Samsung has rolled out software upgrade to its OneUI for S9, S9+. Please check.
Will this work in the USA?
Call Recording is illegal in some countries. Kindly check local law for this.
I used Automatic Call Recorder and Auto Call Recorder, but become useless. I have tried Cube Call Recorder ACR on my Samsung 9+ (Android 9/pie). In fact to my surprise it somehow works, not perfectly but I can hear not only myself but another end too, not so loud but clearly understandable. So considering overall situation I am happy with this solution.
I have Samsung A6 software is Pie but option was not showing
Samsung is not yet supplying OneUI for A6 out of the box. Wait till the software rolls out for your phone.
