UGC NET Syllabus Changed

 The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of UGC for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges.

From Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET (for Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both), is conducted by the NTA. National Testing Agency (NTA) has been established as a premier, specialist, autonomous and self-sustained testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for admission/fellowship in higher educational institutions. To assess competence of candidates for admissions and recruitment has always been a challenge in terms of matching with research based international standards, efficiency, transparency and error free delivery.

The University Grant Commission (UGC) has changed the syllabus of All subjects for June 2019 onwards. The new syllabus has been prepared according to new pattern of UGC NET exam. The new pattern of UGC NET exam is based on computer i.e. online exams. National Testing Agency (NTA) has the responsibilty to conduct the UGC NET exam with updated pattern and syllabus.

The new syllabus has the maximum 10 units of each paper i.e. paper 1 and paper 2.

Paper- I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate. 50 (fifty) multiple choice questions of 2  marks each will be given, the candidate would be required to answer all 50 (fifty).

Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate. Each question will carry 2 marks.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the updated syllabus of National Eligibility (NET). The new syllabus will be applicable form June 2019 UGC-NET onwards.
